Who we are: FAs is a black owned and operated community arts organization that uses the arts as a tool for fostering community and economic development.
Community Support at FAs: A Vital Component of Our Mission
Did you know that only 11% of the artworks displayed in major U.S. museums are created by non-white artists? Art should reflect the rich tapestry of experiences within society. Yet, research shows that the arts in the U.S. frequently fall short in offering meaningful opportunities for visual and performing artists from historically marginalized communities. Without sufficient avenues for minority artists to present their work to the public, the cultures and communities from which these artists hail remain misunderstood, underrepresented, and marginalized.
At FAs, we create safe platforms that leverage the arts to bridge cultural divides and provide personal and professional development opportunities for youth, entrepreneurs, and other community members.
Our mission is focused on community and economic development through the arts.
