2/16/2022

When shopping for your wardrobe, ever consider searching at a thrift store? If someone were to ask me that question two years ago, my answer would have been no. A year ago, I would have said on occasion. Fast forward 3 months later, my answer is yes. Don't get me wrong; I still love shopping at my favorite department stores, but lately, I have snagged several stylish ensembles at a great deals from local thrift stores. Looks like thrift stores and I are developing a styling relationship!

This snake skin jacket and pleated dress slacks were purchased at a Salvation Army store. I was looking for a cream or ivory color belt, and didn't want to spend a lot of money.  So I decided to get thrifty. As I searched through the store for a belt (That was my main purpose for going into the store), I saw the dress pants on the rack, tried them on; perfect fit!  I then walked toward the counter to purchase my new find. There hanging on a corner clothes rack was the snakeskin jacket. Well, I could not leave without taking a look at it. So I tried it on. Another perfect fit.  The price was right, so of course it was added the jacket to my purchase. The pleated dress pants, $8.99, the snakeskin jacket, $12.99 total purchase $22.98 with tax.
By the way, I didn't find a belt.
Here's another great find at a thrift store. This turtleneck sweater cape came from Goodwill, and I must say, am quite pleased with this store. I have shopped there this store at least three times and was never disappointed at every visit.

I will talk about those items in another thrift store blog. For now, I want to discuss this turtleneck sweater cape that I found at a great price. The fabric used to make this sweater feels really good. It is a blend of wool, nylon, and 50% of the material is viscosa (a substitute for silk) less expensive material to use, but the quality is still very soft. Only $6.99 for the sweater!!
